A taste of Traditional Transylvania

Spend a unique vacation... as a guest of The Prince of Wales and Count Kalnoky! Transylvania's first authentic heritage accommodation introduces you to the marvels of living history and nature itself.

Immerse yourself...in a forgotten world that you probably believe has ceased to exist in today's Europe. Experience the luxury of simplicity!

Count Kalnoky and the Prince of Wales, offer accommodations in their guesthouses and activities allowing travellers to discover the cultural and natural diversity of Transylvania at reasonable rates. The guests can explore both the Saxon and the Szekler areas, and nature itself at Prince Charles's Transylvanian retreat nestled deep in the Carpathian foothills.

In the region between Sighisoara and Brasov, The Prince and the Count, offer accommodations in the villages of Viscri (The Prince Guesthouse - 3 double rooms), Miclosoara (The Count Guesthouse - 10 double rooms) and Valea Zalanului (The Price Guesthouse - 5 double rooms).

Most guesthouses date back to the 1800's, although some of them are much older, as indicated by the presence of medieval shooting embrasures. The buildings have been carefully restored and furnished with authentic antiques and textiles from the region in order to preserve their original Transylvanian charm and character. The guesthouses are situated within spacious gardens, some with storks nesting on nearby rooftops.

All rooms have double beds with specially manufactured mattresses of pure wool and duvet covers. In order to create an atmosphere of peace and tranquility, the rooms do not have television or radio; instead, you will find plenty of interesting books on the shelves. Each room has an electric kettle, with tea and coffee provided.

The bathrooms respect western standards of comfort (hairdryers, some with floor heating and softened water, except Viscri), some with bathtubs, others with showers, and have a beauty and charm of their own.

Transylvania is the land where you will find live history in unspoiled villages; discover recently unveiled medieval frescoes and impressive fortified churches. A large choice of nature-bound activities will make you get back in touch with genuine natural environment: Everything from bat watching through to bear tracking and horse-cart driving.

Not a day without something new, not a day without a trip or activity. Welcome to Transylvania!
